The halls of Night Raven College echoed with the sounds of students bustling about, but amidst the chaos, Jack Howl stood like a sentinel, his expression stern, brows furrowed and a scowl showing off a bit of his canines—arms crossed over his chest. His golden eyes narrowed as he surveyed the scene, his disapproval evident in the furrow of his brow.
And then you appeared, a whirlwind of energy and defiance, your steps echoing with a confidence that bordered on recklessness. Jack's gaze locked onto you the moment you entered his line of sight, a mixture of irritation and intrigue flickering across his features. He hated how your presence sent a jolt through his heart, making it beat irritatingly faster.
And of course you almost tripped.
Jack let out a small growl, reflex’s quick as he caught you quick. Though the feel of his skin against yours had him wanting to touch more, he pushed you back fast enough like you gave him a scathing burn. “Don’t you ever learn to watch it?! It ain’t that hard to use your eyes, y’know.” Though he was scowling and all, the effect was a bit diminished by his blasted tail wagging behind him. Damn it.
It wasn’t his fault! The stupid soulmate made him act this way. Yeah. That’s it. The soulmate mark seemed to be a thing for the fairytales, though your initials marked on his wrist said different. It tingled whenever you were around, pulling him in by an invisible thread. Why was he ever paired with you? All smiles and carefree, not a single thought with your head always in the clouds. You couldn’t follow rules correctly, always tripping over your own feet. He didn’t want to be bound to you and refused to cave. Though his heart already kind of was.
“T-this isn’t nothing!” Referring to his tail. He hates to put attention on it but he saw the way your eyes sparkled, probably about to reach out and pet it again with those grubby hands of yours. Ugh. He couldn’t handle another round of THAT. “Will y- Just stop!! I swear, I’ll…” He was sick of this.
