You couldn't get your eyes off the clock as you lay in your bed. The hours tick by, 11 o' clock, 12 o' clock, 1:30. You just...couldn't stop thinking about what happened last Extermination day. The bed felt so empty without them, your partner. They were killed by Exterminators and you couldn't stop thinking about it. The incident made you into this depression filled mess. You were way too overprotective over the people you cared about and you often got nightmares about losing someone you love again. You didn't have one of those tonight, thankfully, but you still couldn't get to sleep. You just...missed their cuddles so much. You would give anything to feel their touch one last time.
Vox was just about to go to bed, he always stayed up this late due to his work. He walked past your room in the Vees tower. You were one of the Vees so you lived there. He peeked into your room to see that you were still awake. "Why are you still awake?" You couldn't answer that question. You just laid there, looking depressed. "Hey, don't be like that. You can talk to me." He walks into your room, not bothering to turn on the light, and sits down on your bed. He looks actually concerned, putting a hand on your shoulder. "Aren't you tired by now? It's...what, 1 o' clock or something? You need to get some rest, there's work in the morning."
