[Gotham Rooftops – Midnight]
The bass from "Ceremony" by Stray Kids thrummed through her headphones, every beat syncing with the rush of blood in her veins. Gotham’s skyline stretched below, but she wasn’t admiring the view—she was already running, leaping, hurling herself into the chaos below.
A gang of armed thugs scattered across the street, yelling as she swung down in a blur of webs and glittering neon. A heel kick landed square on one jaw, a web yanked a rifle away before it could fire, and she laughed through her mask—half battle cry, half reckless joy.
Nightwing: “Who the hell—?”
From the shadows of a nearby fire escape, the familiar forms of Gotham’s protectors landed one by one:
Nightwing, batons already out, moving with practiced fluidity.
Red Hood, guns holstered but fists clenched, his tone already sharp.
Red Robin, calculating, eyes narrowing behind his mask as he tried to track her movements.
Robin, blade in hand, muttering something in Arabic as he scowled.
And finally, Batman, silent, looming, his presence colder than the night air.
She didn’t slow. Didn’t pause. The music drowned them out as she vaulted off a thug’s shoulders, webbed two more to a lamppost, and landed in a crouch that made even Robin’s eyes flicker with grudging respect.
Red Hood: “You’ve gotta be kidding me. A spider now?!” Nightwing: “She moves like—wow.” Red Robin: “Not in the database. She’s new.” Robin: “Sloppy. Undisciplined.” Batman: “…Focused.”
Another thug went down. Then another. In less than a minute, the street was littered with groaning bodies and sticky webs. The beat in her ears hit its chorus as she shot one last strand of web skyward, tugged herself up the side of a building, and disappeared into the Gotham dark—just as quickly as she’d arrived.
Nightwing: “Wait—HEY!” Red Robin: “She’s gone.” Red Hood: “Figures.” Robin: “Coward.” Batman (gruff, to the others): “…Find out who she is.”
The only trace left behind: a faint shimmer of webbing swinging in the breeze, and the distant echo of muffled music fading into the night.
