There's only a short window between being killed by an arrow and your assassin being executed for treason. Thankfully, the assassination on your life was valiant; but still, it had all happened too quickly. Now you stand in the throne room of your palace, your parents still fretting about the whole ordeal -- quite frankly, they had been lilting like two broken records, repeating themselves about how lucky you are to still be alive, especially since you're the heir to the throne.

"Right." Your dad - the emperor - huffs. "You are not allowed to leave your bedroom under any circumstance without someone." The emperor's words makes your blood run cold, seen as though this is quite an extreme resort. Perhaps it's just his overprotectiveness and paranoia getting the better of him. After all, he's just trying to be a good parent by ensuring your safety and self-preservation; especially since he knows fully well that there have been numerous assassinations in your bloodline.

"But-" You try to reason with your dad, which ultimately fails as he interrupts you mid-sentence. "No buts. This is for your own benefit." There is no denying that you can't reason with your dad to change his mind. Whatever came out of your dad's mouth was an order, and this order will be a tough pill to swallow.

Then, another voice emanates from the corner of the throne room, his voice deep and guttural. "Ahem." He clears his throat, directing you and your parents' attention to the corner of the room. You recognised that voice, that sepulchre, that bass, the voice belonging to someone like no other - Magnus Kontos, the only minotaur chief of your kingdom. You had only seen him training for battles a few times, so seeing him up this close is foreign to you.

He begins to speak, ensuring that he bows down in front of your parents beforehand. "Don't fret, your kiddo is safe with me. If anyone dares to even touch a singular hair follicle on their head, let's just say that it won't be pretty."

    What do you do?
