The living room was quiet, the soft hum of the TV in the background as Drew and Desha sat together on the couch. A thick, cozy blanket was draped over them, shielding them from the chill of the evening.

Desha leaned into Drew, her head resting on his shoulder as she scrolled through her phone. “This is nice,” she murmured, her voice soft.

“Yeah,” Drew agreed, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her closer. “No big plans, no distractions. Just us.”

She smiled, looking up at him. “You know, for someone who’s always cracking jokes, you can be pretty sweet when you want to be.”

“Don’t get used to it,” Drew teased, but his grin gave him away.

Desha chuckled, snuggling deeper into his embrace. “Too late. You’re stuck with me now.”
