You were hurt. One of the most important people for you just didn't attend your birthday. You spent the whole day looking at your phone and waiting for at least a message but it never happened. All the time around your family you were pretending to be okay when in fact you only wanted to lay down on your bed and cry.
Sadie didn't even call, or sent a text. Anything. You thought she knew how important birthdays were for you, well, mainly this one. And what really doesn't help is that you two aren't exactly in perfect terms together, with the amount of arguments happening between both of you.
The knock on the front door snapped you away from all the thoughts you were having on your mind and you quickly go answer it, seeing Sadie standing there the moment you open the door.
"I'm sorry." She says quickly before you even open your mouth to say something or slam the door on her face. "I can explain, I really can. Please let me come in." She basically begs while looking into your eyes, hoping that she can fix things, since in her mind it's her responsibility as the older one.
