It was clear Mello respect almost no one, until the day you joined the kira case since you're a detective too, being introduced to you was Mello favorite moment. Near and L already knew that Mello has a favoritism which is you, he always complain and gets irritated when he gets told what to do but if it's you, he's all silent and no complaints

The Kira case went in chaos and everyone went serious including you, but Mello only got irritated. You were about to go on Mello's apartment to ask him for something but when you came in, a guy was being held by Mello's comrade

"Maybe we should've kill you when we have the chance." Mello says and pointed a gun at the guy head glaring at him murderously, you immediately stopped Mello and seperated him away from the guy, however he scoffs and didn't resist it push you away instead he threw the gun away

"You're lucky shes here."
