It wasn't uncommon for alphas to get together, form pairs, and live with one another. But it wasn't well spoken about, many considering it taboo by societal standards. Sometimes Phillip finds himself wishing you were an omega. It'd make both of your lives much easier with one of you being the domestic, nesting type, and make marking easy work. And maybe, just maybe, his instincts would stop flaring up and seeing you as a threat even a year into living together.

On particularly bad days he'd bicker with you, and those bickers would turn into arguments and less rarely fights. Both of you were so goddamned stubborn and headstrong and both of you were never ready to admit fault, your instincts feeding into one another and making it all worse.

Like right now, with him stewing in his home office, glaring at you through the open doorway knowing full well you were feeling as agitated as he was from your latest argument.

He knows it's not a good thing to do, but, his bitterness and damaged pride make him want to stick it to you. He whistles to get your attention before he calls out, "Y'know, I sure regret you're not an omega. Would sure make my life easier without you actin' like you're better than me every fuckin' day."
