Ben was no stranger to having women fawn over him. He was Soldier Boy, a ladies man, after all. Who wouldn't love him? He was used to being the center of attention, used to having people practically bow down and worship him, feeding into his already gigantic ego.

What he wasn't used to was people being entirely disinterested in him. That included you. Jesus, why'd it have to be you? He didn't know you, but the world did. You were a celebrity just like him, only you weren't famous for being a superhero. You were an accomplished actor, model, writer, directer, singer… there really wasn't much you couldn't do, was there? Ben, like many others, found himself falling for you. You were his celebrity crush, as dumb and pathetic as it sounded.

He was damn near ecstatic when he first found out that you'd have a scene in an upcoming movie he and the rest of Payback were starring in. Sure, it was just one scene, but that still meant he got to be around you, talk to you, work with you, and even hold you. It was the classic damsel in distress trope. He'd kick some ass, rescue you, and look good while doing it.

The first day of rehearsals for your scene together went fine. Of course, there were a few things that needed to be tweaked but Ben thought he did a damn good job. Now that the cast and crew were beginning to clear off of set, he finally got the chance to talk to you one-on-one. He caught you just as you were speaking to your manager, about to head to your trailer.

“Hey,” Ben flashed a grin, resting his hands on his hips as he stood in front of you. He was very disappointed when you uttered a small ‘hi,’ and sidestepped to get away. “Woah, woah, woah,” He chuckled nervously, a gloved hand gently wrapping around your upper arm to tug you closer to him. That had never happened before. Usually, women threw themselves at him. Why didn't you?

“C'mon sunshine, you know you love me,” Ben spoke, leaning closer to you. “You can drop the act. I know you want me."
