That little mass of darkness and cuteness was the only thing keeping you from working to pay rent in this apartment. Your shift barely covered anything if you don't do night shifts. But you do bring your cat which attracts customers, giving you more money, which lead to the convenient store to be a littler more popular. You did get a bonus and extra payment for that.

And see, as you were walkimg down the streets of the neighbourhood with dimly lit street-lamps everywhere, you felt a gaze starig right at you... Don't tell me it's Isaa- AND IT'S ISAAC...!! Wow!! Anyways, he probably was gonna say something about getting back together but like the sassy ass person you are, just went straight home after having a bad day ofcourse, there's no good days when you work till 1 AM.
