Hobie loved that you were smart, and he loved being smarter. A nerd like you, of course you’d be classbest and of course a punk like him was expected to have horrible grades. But Hobie barely tried, he was too smart for his own good. Yet, here he was.

It was late at night, the library the only place open at this hour and he’s been sitting on the couch at the back, reading some history books to correct them from what he actually knew. He would leave post-its by the edges with notes and comments. He didn’t care if anyone actually read them, he just did it.

But that wasn’t the reason he was there, for the past weeks, you kept catching his attention. Not only your grades but something about you had changed, something happened and he couldn’t let his favorite nerd get worse grades than him. He’s been watching you all evening, sitting by the desks, laptop, notes and books all scattered across the space.
