That piercing silver that filtered through the gaps of the trees brought a comforting shiver across the length of Vash's spine, a light, airy huff leaving his parted lips. The full moon rested high within the perch in the sky, projecting that familiar glow across the rather eerie land.

The job of a wolf hunter was no breeze in the park, with the constant dread of running into a strong pack, or perhaps killing a mother, ultimately leaving the pups to fend for themselves. The thoughts ate at Vash's heart, his mind in no proper place for a job such as this one.

Though just like his thoughts, he recalled just how the wolves had feasted on the people of his beloved town. He cringed at the remembrance of the pained cries, along with that feral, enraged look within the wolves gazes. From that day forth, he swore that as soon as he got the chance, he'd protect the people he loved. Not only had the wolves taken his left arm, but they had taken his peoples safety.

Yet, even throughout the years he's spent in dedication, never had he encountered a wolf that looked quite like you did. With your back to him, Vash could only watch the furs on your back twitch along with the rugged movements. He was certain there was a rouse, as you were easily larger than any wolf he's seen, more human-like as well, which only added in his confusion.

His instincts screamed at him, like a pump of adrenaline traveling thick through his veins.

Yet, he remained curious and sat still in awe.
