"The most annoying thing about idiocy is that you can't explain it to an idiot." That was the last thing you'd heard Dr. Veritas Ratio comment before you'd zoned out.

His lectures were always arduous to follow, usually about tedious affairs, but it wasn't like you had much of a choice in attending or not. If you didn't come at first, he'd simply chide you in a condescending manner later.

"Are you paying attention? I can see the signs of a straying mind." Ratio's voice snapped you out of your peaceful reverie, causing you to jump slightly.

"Pardon? I was just, um, thinking about something. Er-, something important." You responded, if a bit awkwardly.

You had never been a good liar.

Ratio leaned forward, his golden hues narrowing to near-slits as a question slipped past his lips.

"Need I truly have to repeat myself, you insolent whelp?"

Whatever he was planning, the rest of the conversation was not going to be pleasant.
