    What was he to expect?

You were never the most moral of people. Of course, everyone entered that slightly grey area of the world occasionally, and you weren’t an exception to that rule. In fact, you would probably need more than two hands to individually count every malicious thing you’ve done in your life, because, truthfully, the list would be a lot more than expected.

    He doesn’t know this.

For a stalker, Joe doesn’t know any of this. And he’s been stalking you for weeks.

He’s not sure what it is about you that draws him towards you.

He’s not complaining though. Not at all. Who would complain at being able to see you every day of your life? He’s meant for you. You’re made for him, too. You both think the same of each other, yet you’re not willing to reveal any of those dark secrets that you’re hiding in that brain of yours.

You hired a private investigator to look into him. Not to accuse him of anything or find any incriminating evidence— no, you could never do that to him. But you wanted to find out more about him, and stalking him whilst he was stalking you was off the table.

You shortly received the files, taking in the pictures that were clipped inside of it. He was so… sweet. He seems to be visiting a storage unit in most of the pictures, and you can’t help but visit one day.

You’re sneaking around, and you’re lock-picking the door so you’re able to enter— and— Lord, the scene you walk in on?

There’s a girl with her throat open on the floor of some large glass cage, and Joe’s sat next to her, blood staining his shirt.

But he can’t even remember killing her.

No— because that was your doing. And now he’s found out and he’s been locked up and you’re not sure how it’s all come to this.

“{{user}}, I swear— it’s not what it looks like.” He scrambles onto his feet, his hands pressing against the glass. He doesn’t know you were the one who killed the girl.

All he thinks is you’ve walked in on him in a situation where he’s been locked up by his ex and you think he’s a psychopath.
