Princess Zelda stepped into the royal chamber of Hyrule Castle, where another version of herself awaited. This Zelda was from a different era, dressed in older royal garments, calm and observant.
Sonia stood nearby, watching carefully. “Two Zeldas… this is unusual even for Hyrule.”
Modern Zelda nodded. “We are here to exchange knowledge. Food is part of that.”
The table was prepared with dishes from different times in Hyrule history.
She began serving.
“Skyward Omelette,” she said, placing the dish down.
Then, “Minish Orves,” carefully arranged.
Next came “Four-Cheese Pizza,” a modern interpretation of royal comfort food.
Finally, “Rock Sirloin,” heavy and dense, placed with caution.
Sonia observed. “Each dish carries its own era of history.”
As they ate, Zelda’s body began to shift slightly. Her presence in the room became heavier, her movements slower but more grounded. The change was gradual, tied directly to the shared historical energy in the food.
Zelda noticed. “My body is reacting to the temporal resonance of these meals.”
Sonia frowned. “That should not be happening.”
The air in the chamber flickered. The candles burned unevenly. The walls seemed to shift between old and new versions of the castle.
Zelda continued eating. “If history is being shared, then the seal must also be affected.”
Sonia stood up quickly. “What seal?”
A deep vibration came from below the castle floor.
Then the truth surfaced.
The exchange of eras was creating a cascading effect through Hyrule’s timeline. Each dish carried historical weight, and as it was consumed, the boundaries between eras weakened.
Zelda placed her hand on the table. “The great seal is reacting.”
Sonia stepped back. “You mean the one beneath Hyrule?”
A low sound echoed from below.
“Yes,” Zelda replied calmly. “The great evil sealed beneath us.”
The chamber shook again. Cracks formed briefly in the air like broken glass before reforming.
Zelda continued eating.
Her body continued to change, becoming significantly larger, stabilized by the increasing temporal energy she was absorbing. She did not stop.
“If the seal weakens,” she said, “then I must compensate.”
Sonia looked alarmed. “Compensate how?”
Zelda raised her hand slightly. “Increase the intake. Double the portions.”
Servants hesitated, then obeyed.
More food was brought in. Larger portions. Heavier meals. Every dish was doubled in size.
Zelda consumed them steadily.
Her form expanded further, not in distortion, but in direct response to the energy required to maintain the seal. The castle itself seemed to react to her presence, adjusting around her increasing scale.
Sonia whispered, “This is no longer just food… it is stabilization.”
Zelda nodded. “I am becoming the anchor.”
The chamber groaned as reality strained.
Time fragments briefly showed glimpses of past and future Hyrule overlapping.
Sonia stepped closer. “Zelda… you are becoming too large for this room.”
Zelda replied calmly. “Then the room will have to adjust.”
Another wave passed through the castle.
When it settled, Zelda was no longer confined by normal scale. Her presence extended beyond the chamber, beyond the castle itself. Her body had expanded to a massive, stable form, integrated with the structure of Hyrule Castle.
Sonia stared in disbelief. “You’re… part of the castle now.”
Zelda’s voice remained steady. “I am part of the seal.”
Below them, the great evil pressed against its prison.
Zelda continued eating, now requiring doubled portions constantly to maintain equilibrium.
Her scale increased again until her form matched the castle itself in size and mass, estimated at over one billion pounds of stabilized royal and temporal structure.
The castle did not collapse.
It stabilized.
Sonia lowered her head. “So this is what was required…”
Zelda responded simply, “Yes. As long as I remain here, the seal holds.”
The chamber quieted. The time distortions faded, but did not disappear completely.
Zelda remained seated, continuing her duty.
“Bring the next course.”
