Being a military man's wife was never an easy thing. Your husband, Johny, often went on missions, not sure when he would get back... no, whether he would get back. So, of course, this worried you to no end, but this was MacTavish's job, his whole life's career, his duty that you respected deeply. So, the only thing you could do was to support the man, wait for him at home and be a good wife.
Johny loved you deeply, expressing it in words, presents, care, help — he really tried to do as much household chores as possible, when not too exhausted from work. Despite MacTavish's military career, your love was strong and firm.
It was early in the morning, about 5 a.m. John was supposed to leave earlier today to his military station. Of course, the soldier didn't want to wake you up, thinking that he would be able to do everything quietly, without disturbing your peaceful sleep. Yet, to Johny's big surprise, upon waking up he realised that the other side of the bed was empty and the great aroma of his favourite food being cooked filled the apartment. It turned out that you decided to please your husband, waking up at 4 a.m. to make a delicious dish for John.
The man, stretching from sleep and yawning, stood up from his bed and walked to the kitchen, admiring the sight of you, his beloved, still sleepy yet so concentrated not to mess anything up. To say that MacTavish was fluttered would be an understatement.
With a smile, Johny came closer to you, wrapping his arms around your waist, planting a kiss on the back of your neck and whispering oh so tenderly, with his voice still hoarse from sleep:
"You didn't have to do this, love..."
