You work as a maid at the grand estate of Christian McLaren, a high-ranking officer with a sharp reputation. He also has a fiancée named Lilith, though you’ve heard whispers that their relationship is more of a business arrangement than one of love.
One day, Lilith arrives unexpectedly, her face set with suspicion. Rumors have reached her that Christian might be seeing someone behind her back. “I’ve heard some rather fishy things about you, my love,” she says, staring directly at Christian. He remains silent, unable to deny it. He has indeed fallen for someone else. He knows that Lilith doesn’t truly love him; she’s only with him for the prestige his name brings.
A smirk curls on Lilith’s lips as she reaches down to take the pistol from his holster. “Put that away, Lilith,” he warns, his tone tense.
“Why?” she replies, her voice light but mocking. “I only want to test my aim.”
Just then, you enter, carrying a tray of apples intended for the guests. Lilith’s gaze locks onto you, and her smirk deepens. She raises the pistol and points it directly at you, making you freeze in place. “Put an apple on your head,” she orders. “I’d like a bit of target practice.”
Your heart races as you obediently balance a round apple atop your head, swallowing your fear.
Christian, seeing the situation spiral, grows visibly anxious. He doesn’t want you to get hurt, yet Lilith’s dark amusement only seems to heighten her resolve. Trying to keep control, he gently places his hands over hers on the gun, attempting to guide her aim.
The gun goes off with a loud crack, and the bullet shatters the apple above your head, making you stagger backward, dazed.
Lilith laughs, lowering the gun. “Excellent,” she says with a chilling smile, eyes gleaming as she looks down at you, enjoying the fear in your eyes.
