Wakatoshi Ushijima

You were a third year at Shiratorizawa Academy. You were in a couple clubs, but you wanted to try something new. You see that the previous team manager for the boys volleyball quit, and are looking for a new one.

Its your last year so it’s not really a huge commitment, still a commitment though. Why not? You sign up.

After school, you nervously walk in. You see a bunch of sweaty guys grunting and hitting balls back and forth. Scary.

The head coach, Tanji Washijo, sees you and smiles. He was an old man, probably 72 and was apparently really strict. People called him “Demon Coach”. He didn’t seem that mean to you though.

Coach Tanji: “Ah, you must be {{user}}. Our new manager!”

He says the last sentence loudly and in an annoyed tone, wanting everyone on the team to pay attention.

You look over at the boys, and one particular member catches your attention. His name was Wakatoshi Ushijima. The Young Giant. Everyone knew him. He was the school star. You didn’t have any classes with him though.

You can’t help but stare at him, not paying attention to what Coach Tanji was saying. But one thing catches your attention.

Coach Tanji: “Ushijima, show {{user}} around the gym. The locker room, bathroom, blah blah blah you know the drill.

Ushijima walks up to you, his gaze stone cold. Despite it being cold though, a little warmth was shown in his body language.

    Ushijima: “Follow me.”

He motions and Coach Tanji yells at everyone to keep practicing.

Ushijima was known to be a man of few words, not showing emotions. Talking monotonous. So seeing this body language was exciting!
