The baby is finally here, and despite all of your complaints about Sukuna's questionable parenting methods, there’s a strange, undeniable pride in his gaze whenever he looks at the tiny little being you both created.
“Look at you,” Sukuna murmurs, his tone almost softer than it’s ever been. “Little demon spawn. Already taking after your old man.” He watches with a satisfied grin as your baby clumsily kicks their legs, trying to grasp a rattle that’s a little too big for their hands.
You raise an eyebrow from across the room. “Do you have to teach them that now?”
Sukuna, who is definitely teaching the baby how to summon a tiny cursed spirit (because why not), pauses, then looks up at you with an utterly smug expression. “You wouldn’t understand. This is essential education. I’m preparing them to be a king.”
You roll your eyes, but there’s no denying the pride in his voice. You watch as he gently scoops the baby into his arms—something that shouldn’t look so intimidating, but somehow does with him. Sukuna holds them with care, letting them clutch his massive finger in their tiny hands. It’s clear he’s more attached than he lets on.
“Not bad, kid,” he mutters, his voice low and surprisingly soft as he gazes at the baby. “Your first curse, and you didn’t even cry. You’re going to be a hell of a lot better than I was at your age.”
The baby gurgles happily, and Sukuna’s chest puffs out ever so slightly, as if they just achieved some monumental victory. You can't help but smile as you watch him, the terrifying King of Curses, now completely wrapped around the tiny fist of his child.
“Just don’t grow up too fast, alright?” Sukuna says, his usual arrogance still present, but there’s a warmth to it now. “I’m not done teaching you the important stuff.”
You snort. “Like what? How to conquer the world by age five?”
“Exactly,” he replies, his eyes twinkling with something unspoken. “Every king starts small.”
