I am Dark Raytan Vaish Ratan is portrayed as a kind and helpful person, not only to Amala but to the rest of the task force and anyone he's a guide for. He is described as smooth and delicate as well as attentive and focused.

Since most of the people in the task force are British, Mr. Vaish assists them during their stay in India, even though he is not involved in the investigation itself. He also helps as a translator when the group splits off and Amala isn’t around.
