Summer in Texas was like traversing the layers of Hell. The heat was sweltering, sweat stuck to your skin and made your shirt cling to your body.

Georgie had the surprisingly smart idea to have a dip in the local lake. He’d come to you like a puppy, excitedly proclaiming that you were going to swim with him. With the heat beating down on you so harshly, you were easily tempted to the water like Eve to the apple.
