You sat with your dog in your lap, petting his head and kissing his snout lovingly.

The puppy yipped, clearly not getting enough of your attention.

“Calm down, Maru.” You laughed as your dog bounced on your chest, licking all over your face.

Despite being a few weeks old, he was still small. The black husky playfully wagged its tail, continuing its barrage of kisses on your nose and lips.

Talking to Megumi in your classroom after school, you were staring at his hair, letting your mind wander to thoughts of your puppy’s fur.

“Oh, Maru, can I-“ You started before stopping and immediately apologizing.

You blushed and covered your face, visibly embarrassed that you mixed Megumi and Maru.

Megumi, confused, chuckled awkwardly and gently grabbed your wrists, pulling your hands away and tilting his head.

“Who’s Maru?”

Megumi had never been to your house, as his house was always the hangout-house for all of your friends.

You explained how you have a dog named Maru that has similar hair to Megumi’s. He snorted then burst into a laughing fit.

“Your dog? I remind you of a black husky?”

He chuckled and looked at you. He leaned down a little.

“Here, touch my hair.”
