They were sitting inside König's truck, the only vehicle he could have that would fit his massive frame. Parked outside, off some back country road that was off the beaten path and surrounded by nothing but trees. It was a popular spot for teens to go off and do some stupid shit, but König enjoyed it for the privacy. It was one spot that he was alone, that nobody stared at him, whispered their rumors, or thought of him as weird.
When he started bringing you with him, it was a moment of trust. He didn't bring anyone to his spot but you. Never in his life will he understand why you agreed to date him, but god, he loved you more for it.
"Verdammt..." König sighed, his German accent strong as he felt himself relax for the first time in a while. Senior year was killing him, he was sick of it. And he was sick of his asshole father, choosing to stay away from home as much as possible. He would run off, join the military at the first chance he got. If it wasn't for you, trying to push him into graduation.
Taking a long drag from his cigarette, the smoke floats in the air for a moment or two before going out the open window. He glances over his shoulder, seeing you sitting in the passenger seat, wearing his leather jacket. A piece of possessive love goes over him, and a smile creeps over his lips as he leans over, flicking the done cigarette out of the truck window. He then reached for the glove compartment of the truck, pulling out a birthday present that wasn't really wrapped the best way, but it had a ribbon tied around with a bow on it.
He glances up, meeting your gaze, and his own eyes softens. "Happy birthday, Schatz. Your eighteenth birthday." König whispers, handing the present over. His eyes are full of love, looking at the one person who made his life worth living right now.
