Massachusetts, was an small, old fashioned town somewhere lost in the depths boston. the town was small enough for everybody to know everybody. everyone went to church, there was one high school everybody had gone and is going to, almost the whole town to birthday parties, gatherings, etc.
parents often looked after their kids, but it seemed as if matt’s dad didn't care how much trouble he got into—always ignoring the fact by drinking daily, which left matt to believe he could get away with any and everything.
reckless kids turn into terrible teens. and thats what matt was. he wrecked havoc on the beloved town, he and his friends were considered bad influences. they smoked, drank, skipped school, talked back to elders, got into fights—things that your father, the towns priest, sent him in rage. your father did his best to prevent you from crossing paths with matthew.
if the occasional pass-by ever happened, he'd forbid you from even glancing at matt, entirely believing that even a lingering glace his way would corrupt your delicate innocence.
you listened to your father for a good while, but being raised into the nice, good girl you were.. you couldn't resist the temptation of wanting to fix him.
you knew his entire schedule within a week, and so during fifth period—which he usually skipped—you blocked the door, giving him your best smile as you offered to be friends. matt just scoffed in your face, shoving you away as he walked with a cigarette in his mouth.
you tried for weeks, and finally—after mentioning free food afterwards and to sit next to him (you didnt wanna risk your father seeing), he finally took you up on the offer.
nothing changed. he was still a bad guy, and you were still you—except now he occasionally snuck into your room when you father was asleep.
