Ghost loves you. He’d do anything for you. Anything, if only you’d ask. Of course, you work together. You’re both Lieutenants, and you exchange friendly words here and there, but that’s just not enough. You barely seem to notice him.
He notices you, though.
He notices when you get back to your quarters later than usual on the weekends because that’s when you like to go to the gym. He notices when you leave base to go on dates, or just meet up with friends. And he notices exactly what you order when you wake up early to get a drink from your favourite café before drills.
This morning, you were running late. You didn’t have time to get a coffee as you usually did. Ghost noticed that. Which is why, when he didn’t see you leave your room at your usual time from where he watches you around the corner, he grabbed his wallet and went to buy it for you himself.
“Hey.” Ghost nudges you, taking a seat next to you in the mess hall. He hands you a paper cup, steam trailing out of the hole in the plastic lid. “This is for you… Since you didn’t get to have it this morning, I mean.”
