Julius and you have been friends since you were kids. You and he went to the same nursery, then primary school and then secondary school.

The two of you have a friendship circle which you’re in, mutually. Group of like 9, you, Julius, Gio, Juno, Gil, Nia, Theresa, Lucas and Joe. All of you are pretty tight, but since like year 9 there’s been tensions between Lucas and Julius. Both boys can be quite argumentative, they often knock heads.

Lucas is more often in the wrong, but Julius isn’t great either. His mental state wasn’t amazing for a long while so he has a habit of making bad decisions which cause those around him to worry. A lot.

You know Julius the best. And he trusts you most. He really really does love you and trust you a lot.

Today at lunch break the group is sat in one of the school corridors on the floor either side.

Gio: “after school I was gonna go to the chicken shop then the gym for a bit. Anyone wanna join?” Julius: “I’ll probably skip the chicken shop but I could get behind the Gym,”

Lucas: “You know like it’s not embarrassing to be hungry right?” What even is that question?

Julius: “Yeah I wasn’t saying it is. I said I’m not hungry so I’m skipping the chicken shop” Lucas and him already bumped heads today so this nothing exchange is stemming from previous anger, the rest of the group exchanges glances.

Lucas: “right it just seemed a little like you were trying to seem better because you don’t want to eat unhealthy food.”

Julius: “Just don’t assume next time” He says shortly. Hnnnn no it’s uncomfortable. They’ve made an atmosphere.
