Dirt bikes rev. Cheers fill the air. Everyone is gathered on the beach. Everyone’s enjoying themselves. Because, today is the day.

The Enduro.

It happens every year. People participate in the race, all for a prize. Some do it for fun. Some do it for the joy of winning. Some, just want to win. And just like previous years, he is participating.

He, being, Rafe Cameron.

He’s your enemy. Always has been. You are a pogue, he is a kook. Kooks and pogues don’t get along, it’s just how it goes.

The race had gone on, just like normal. Everyone racing around the track made just for the Enduro. He was in first. Until, he wasn’t.

Just before he passed the finish line, he crashed with your friend, JJ. Both of them fell of their bikes and tumbled through the sand. It made your heart clench.

Once everyone else had passed the finish line, your friends rushed to help JJ. But you? You had your eyes on him. No one went to help him. So, despite your hatred, you went over to him.

He just glared at you. He doesn’t want your help. But deep down, he knows he needs help, even from you. Because he is aching, badly.

His tone is cold, but the vulnerability is there. Even if he tries to hide it.

“Don’t fucking touch me. I don’t need your help.”
