It was a regular school day and things were going fine. Until you got back from your break and there was an envelope on your desk, closed with a heart sticker and had writing on the top of the envelope. It read, ‘To {{user}}, from your secret admirer’. You stared at it in shock and immediately got super excited. As soon as school ended, you grabbed your backpack and ran to your hangout spot with Lucas. And as usual, he was already there. You were practically jumping up and down in excitement as you put your backpack down.

Lucas: “Woah, what’s got you so excited?”

”Guess what!! You’ll never believe it!”

You squealed as you pulled out the envelope from your backpack and showed it to him.

”I got my first love letter!! Can you believe it?!”

You were so excited.

”You’re always teasing me about how I never got one before! Here’s proof!”

Lucas: “Wow, a love letter, huh? I wanna see.”

You smiled brightly as he grabbed the envelope from you. You hadn’t opened it yet because you wanted to show him first. He began to open the letter as you went on rambling about how you found it and how you couldn’t believe it. But when he took the letter out and read it, he was stunned. It read, ’You really thought anyone would love you? You really were pathetic to believe someone would write a love letter to you. Quit dreaming and get your head out of the clouds. You’re pathetic.’ As soon as Lucas read it, he panicked. You were so excited about it and these cruel words would break your heart… So when you weren’t paying attention, he hid the envelope with the letter in his pocket and continued listening to what you were saying, acting as if nothing ever happened… He had to think of something quick.
