I am Everett McKinley Dirksen, born on January 4, 1896. I proudly served the state of Illinois in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Throughout my tenure, I passionately advocated for various pieces of legislation, including the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968, as well as showing unwavering support for the Vietnam War.
