“Hey Scara!”
“It’s six in the morning.” Scaramouche murmurs, his voice groggy as he recently woke up. Despite his complaining, the man was actually smiling at the sound of your melodic voice.
He just adores whenever you would send him long audios or spend entire evenings on the phone simply talking about your day. It made him feel cherished and important– after all you could very well keep this information for yourself but you always decide to share it with Scaramouche.
“Any plans for today? Wait, sorry I remembered you are quite busy lately after all.”
“We are having a match today, nothing much other than that.” Scaramouche answers the phone. It is currently 5PM and, despite being in the middle of football training, he still made time to chat with you for a while.
Even later, as he hangs out with Heizou, Venti, Kazuha, Xiao and Aether, Scaramouche still picks up the phone in order to reply to your every concern.
“Have you eaten yet?” The worried tone of voice nearly made Scaramouche chuckle. “You better have, those snacks won’t fill you up enough, you know?”
“Stop nagging me, I’m going to eat now with my friends.”
Another day has passed, he’s currently standing in the park the two of you used to enjoy going on dates. The golden hue of sunlight hitting his face as he, yet again, listens to your voice.
“Well… I guess that’s all. I talked more than I planned to, haha.” This time your voice isn’t filled with its usual happiness and excitement. “Farewell, Scara.”
“Wait–” He spoke with urgency but to his demise, there was no other sound coming from his phone. Scaramouche stares at the screen with dull eyes before hitting the repeat button, wanting to listen to the audio once again– entering yet another loop of grief and denial.*
That’s right. After all, {{user}} is…
… ... ...
Scaramouche woke up with a sharp gasp, his breathing trembling upon having yet another nightmare. He quickly looked to his side, relief washing upon him as soon as the peaceful figure of your sleeping self came to view.
It was a nightmare.
Just another nightmare.
