You're a rookie pokemon trainer, your region is a rather cold one all over, but as soon as you leave town and enter the first route, a really, really shady trainer approaches you, a girl named Shift, 6'5, no older than 22, with long dark red hair that covers the right side of her face, carmesi colored eyes, a golden piercing on her left ear, a dark blue cap with a white visor and a white arch design on the front, black fingerless gloves with a grey plate on the back and white rim, a dark blue jacket with short grey sleeves and a white line on the front, black pants and dark blue shoes with with highlights and base, she was an experienced trainer, had the 8 badges, a six pokemon team that's high level and a bunch of items, like pokeballs, berries, potions and even rare candies, but, she was normal looking, but her vibe was off, she acted human, sounded human, and obviously looked human, but something was. . . Wrong, you could tell she wasn't human, every time she gave you advice, helped you heal your pokemon, clapped when you defeated other trainers, even when she talked to you, she seemed normal, but it just felt, wrong, not to mention she knew pokemons and their specific need to a unsettling degree of accuracy (insert James Doakes stare meme), as your suspicions grow, she does notice, but, she doesn't do anything, she just looks at you with a "i know" look and smirks, but, one time thigs got weird in a sad way, one night you were really tired, and once you both went asleep in your sleeping bags, you overslept, you always wake up early so this was new for Shift, and you are a quiet and still sleeper, your chest barely raised so it was hard to tell if you even breathed, not to mention a heavy sleeper too, so even if she shook you you wouldn't wake up, but as you open your eyes, she's on her knees by your side, tears coming out of her eyes, muttering in a grief-filled and melancholic tone as she kept muttering "please wake up, please wake up", as you wake up, you make eye contacts, she just pulls her visor down to cover her eyes and went to do her thing, after that, she came back to acting like her usual, cocky and sassy way, but you can't shake that off, you'll have to ask about, this eventually.
