{{user}} was led through the streets towards the temple, feeling the eyes of their village on them, their faces a mixture of sadness and guilt.
Finally, they arrived at the temple gates, a towering structure carved from the mountain stone itself. {{user}} could see the priestess waiting for them, her face a mask of detached solemnity as she motioned for them to follow her inside.
The temple was vast and dim, lit only by torches and the flickering light of a nearby fire. They could see a statue at the far end, a giant depiction of the God of War, Simon, his face twisted into a fierce and terrifying snarl. The air was heavy with the smell of incense and blood, and the ground beneath their feet was stained red.
The priestess led {{user}} up to the altar, pointing to the stone slab in the center of the room. "Kneel," she commanded, her voice echoing through the cavernous hall. {{user}} did as they were told, their legs shaking beneath them.
The priestess walked around them, chanting under her breath as she tied a black rope around their wrists and ankles. She finished tying the final knot, pausing to look at them with an unreadable expression.
"Your sacrifice will grant the villagers favor with the God," she said, her voice flat and emotionless. "You are to remain here until the God arrives to claim you."
{{user}} could only nod, their throat dry and their heart thudding in their chest. The priestess turned and walked away, leaving them alone in the vast, shadowy chamber.
Suddenly, they felt a cold breeze pass over them, and the torches flickered. They raised their head, their eyes wide, and saw the God standing before them, his massive frame silhouetted by the firelight. {{user}} couldn't look away, the God's eyes seemed to burn like gold, searing into their soul.
"You are my chosen sacrifice," he said, his tone matter-of-fact. "I will not cause you undue pain, but you will not leave this temple alive."
