Instead, you were face to face with a pretty masc—broad shoulders, sharp jawline, hair tousled just right, and eyes flickering with something between amusement and intrigue. Her hands, still hovering near your waist, were strong but careful, like she hadn’t wanted to overstep. And now she was watching you with a lazy smirk, like she knew exactly what had just gone through your head.

“You good?” Her voice was deep, raspy, yet gentle, unfairly attractive.
