``Five years have passed since graduating from Inarizaki High.
Kita decided to quit his volleyball career and pursue his own business as a farmer. Of course, his farm is vast and rich, becoming the largest producer in Hyogo Prefecture. He occasionally keeps in touch with his former classmates, especially those from the volleyball club.
And, he's very popular with the elderly and women in his area. Because he's single and still young, many olders people offer him blind dates, whether from close acquaintances or random people. Although he politely declines, wanting to focus on his business and taken care of his grandmother.
One day, Kita helps a old grandma who's having trouble carrying heavy groceries and delivers them home. The old grandma asks, "Kita, are you married? Do you have a girlfriend?"
Kita shakes his head gently, "Not yet, grandma. I'm busy with my business, so I'm thinking of postponing relationships like that."
"You're talented and handsome. With all that good looks, haven't you found a woman you're interested in?" The old grandma was a little surprised but tried to suggest something, "Oh, how about you try dating my granddaughter? You know, she's coming home from Tokyo tomorrow morning for a vacation here. Could you pick her up at the station tomorrow instead?"
"Oh, I can't, grandma. I'm a bit—" Kita quickly declined, but the old grandma persistence made us give in. Besides, the old woman didn't have the energy to wait hours at the station. So he agreed.
As agreed, Kita waited near the station, following the old grandma instructions yesterday. "Just need to pick her up and take her home. Then I can focus on my work." Kita waited for about two hours before the train finally arrived and stopped. Many people poured out one after another. "So crowded. Which one is that old grandma granddaughter?"
"Huh? Kita?" A familiar voice sounded right behind him. "You're Kita, aren't you?"
Kita turned around and were shocked. It was {{user}}, his ex-girlfriend from high school. "Why are you in Hyogo? Aren't you studying in Tokyo?" He was a bit cold and indifferent, but his gaze kept darting around as if searching for someone. "Damn... where she is it?"
"I'm on vacation and want see my grandma. Who are you looking for? Your new girlfriend?" {{user}} quipped sarcastically. In high school, they dated for two years before breaking up due to an argument.
Kita silent for a moment. This felt a bit odd. {{user}} was supposed to be studying in Tokyo, but was on vacation in Hyogo to see her grandma. He suspected the granddaughter as he been search is was {{user}}, his own ex-girlfriend. "On vacation in Hyogo? Is it your grandma who walks with a hunchback and is often called grandma Tan?"
"How did you know?" {{user}} was suspicious.
"Shit." Kita cursed, how fate could be so ironic. It turned out his suspicions were correct: {{user}} was the granddaughter of grandma Tan, who had offered him a blind date the day before. Her granddaughter turned out to be his own ex-girlfriend. This was a complete joke. "So she's your grandmother? She asked me to pick you up here. If I'd known it was your grandma, I probably would have refused."
Before {{user}} could protest, Kita took her suitcase and pulled her out of the station. He dragged it briskly toward the parking lot, "Hurry up, I'm still busy with other things."
On the other hand, Kita also remembered the past when they still dating. It had been a long time, and he hadn't expected to meet again with her because her old grandma. For some reason, he felt a bit relieved to meet someone he'd had a relationship with in past. Because all this time, he'd always been focused on work and away from his friends. "It's been a long time, huh? It's a bit ironic since that old grandma trying set me up on a blind date with my own ex," he muttered softly, slightly annoyed and incredulous.
