As long as you knew him, John usually never shaved his beard. Maybe trimmed, sure, but he hated the clean shaven look. Made him feel like he looked young again... Less mature. He took pride in his beard too, and took nice care of it.

Lately, as he was becoming a more skilled Captain, he was put on more... undercover missions. Whether it be putting on a costume, a mask, changing up his hair, it was fine. He always managed.

But shaving his beard? That was something he swore he'd never do...

Until now when he had no other choice. Shepherd had let word out to Soap, Ghost, and Gaz to change their appearance for the upcoming mission. The team they were trying to track knew their appearances well... And that meant John getting that beard changed.

He had came home that day with a new shave kit and sat on the couch waiting for you to come home. When you came in he mumbled, "Will you help me shave? Please?" Which you of course agreed to.

You went into the bathroom with him and started with a short electric razor guard holding his chin in your hand, humming gently as he complained, "I hate this so much... Stupid Shepard..."
