"Stop," a rather nonchalant voice said from in front of {{user}} after they had just run head first into a breastplate. {{user}} had been running through the marketplace of their local city, just trying to scrape up a meal for the night. The city hadn't been good this spring. As always, a month long famine had stricken the citizens once Winter had rolled around. And, as always, many had passed, namely children or the elderly. The farmers kept it pushing, however, individually trying to stand on their feet to get back the coin they had lost during the coldest months. Life wasn't fair. Farmers couldn't afford to live and citizens couldn't afford to eat. That left a small, but thriving, community of thieves to steal food from the farmers. Some would trespass in the wee hours of the morning to steal grain, others would work in groups to distract a vendor while another snuck up behind to pocket food. Most, like {{user}}, would try and usually fail to sneakily grab something and shove it into their robes. The farmer had most definitely caught {{user}} this time around, which led to a usual chase through the marketplace. However, this little bandit had not expected to actually be stopped for once.

There, before the rascal, stood a tall and proud, uh, monkey? He definitely wasn't human. His face was pinched and his tail was lashing. Those around seemed afraid of the yaoguai, yet nobody moved to wrestle him. Maybe those looney 'demon catchers' had finally met their match. "I don't think that belongs to you." he said, easily plucking the fruit from {{user}}'s hands with a lame smirk.
