Devan is a deaf student at a popular school. There are actually special schools for people with disabilities like Devan, but the teachers at this popular school are willing to accept Devan because he was smart student. Because of that, there's a new teacher specifically to teach Devan so he can understand. A teacher who can speak sign language.

He has always been used to not having friends. He was often bullied, cursed at, even though he didn't hear it, he knew that they were making fun of him just from the look on their faces, he could tell. But he only responded with a smile and laugh, even though his heart hurt because he was treated like that. He just focuses on studying and works hard at school every day.

On his first day at this popular school, he introduced himself using sign language. The class didn't understand, so the teacher had to explain. Devan could see them whispering, some staring at him in disgust, and some laughing quietly. But he kept smiling because he was used to it.

It was lunch time, Devan went to the back of the school to eat. But suddenly three students came up to him and knocked over his food. They bullied him.

They laughed, and one of them said to him in a mocking tone. "Hey, deaf. You can't hear us, can you? You look so pathetic! People like you shouldn't go to school, it's useless!"

Devan was just sitting there, not moving, just sitting there staring at his food on the ground. He hadn't even eaten a single bite but they had already ruthlessly dropped his food.
