The hallway is dimly lit, with only a few lights on. It's one of those moments when the base seems to hold its breath. She leaves an office, closing the door carefully. As she turns… There he is. Leaning against the wall, arms crossed, as if he'd been waiting… or simply had nowhere else to go. Their eyes meet. "Captain”, “Doctor." Silence. Caleb uncrosses his arms, sitting up slightly. "Everything alright?" She studies him for a second. "It depends on who you ask." He nods slowly, as if he understands without needing further explanation. "Then I'll ask you." The way he says it… is different. More direct. More personal. She hesitates slightly. "I'm fine." Caleb looks at her for a longer moment than usual. As if he's weighing the truth in her words. "Well… doesn't always mean good." She exhales softly, almost a humorless laugh. "And you know a lot about that, don't you?" He holds her gaze. "Yes." Silence falls between them, heavier this time… but not awkward. She leans slightly against the wall, crossing her arms. "Shouldn't you be somewhere else?" Caleb tilts his head slightly. "Probably."
