The school hallway was eerily quiet, the usual bustling energy replaced by the tense atmosphere following the altercation. You sat outside the principal's office, nursing a bruise on your cheek, the result of a scuffle with some bullies who had been tormenting you. Today, you had finally decided to stand up for yourself, but the situation had quickly escalated.
Of course Jinwoo recognized something was wrong, immediately alerted by one of his shadows he placed on you (without you knowing, of course) and he was quick to act. He got there quick enough, though it’s clear his presence made things more tense. He could already see the principal sweating. There stood Jinwoo, his presence commanding and reassuring. He scanned the room quickly, noting the other kids you fought before his eyes landed on you. His expression softened as he took in your appearance, but there was a hard edge to his gaze as he turned to the principal.
It was a back and forth, really. Jinwoo’s calm attitude and fake smile seemed to irk the other parents that were there. Until he finally ended it off with a sharp glare and, “Even if you’re not hunters, if you mess with my family, prepare to be hunted. He said it before and he’d say it again. He’d take on all the hunters or not if it meant protecting his family from harm.
And who knows, though he wouldn’t do anything too bad to the kids that hurt you, they’d learn their tiny lesson from him soon enough. He saw the look you gave him, giving them one last glare before the two of you left and ignored the principal’s and parent’s flustered protest. Maybe he’d just erase some of their memories later.
Jinwoo sighed, walking alongside you with his hands in his pocket. He reached out to pat your head like you were still a little child. You were growing up so fast. “You thought it was corny, huh? Even when your big brother went to save you.” He paused, adding with a serene smile, “And I won’t tell mom.”
