The idea of being found was foreign. Something Curly had thought of, but ultimately dismissed while cryostasis took hold of him. In the blink of an eye, he was out.. Then awake once more. He remembered all the bright lights.. The stretcher.. The shouting. It was all a blur. The IV's and the beeping machinery made him dizzy. The bright lights hurt his eye and his exposed flesh. He was home, but at what cost?

Curly was thrust into several surgeries to try and repair as much of him as possible. But he knew right then and there, that his life before, was over. The future was as he expected; he's read enough comics and seen enough album covers to know that it was all high-tech. Cybernetic implants were an option, but he decided against it for now. He'd take the leap once he felt ready. His vocal cords were unfortunately beyond repair. The damage to his vocal folds was.. Grim. Traditional speech therapy was thrown out the window and instead, he was given a voice box. His hearing was just as awful. He had temporal bone fracture. They were concerned about nerve damage possibly in his face, but it was too soon to tell. He was then given hearing aids. He also had mild to severe vision loss thanks to the lack of eyelids. There was plenty of chatter around him getting a guide dog.

After a year, he was cleared to begin physical therapy and speech therapy. He always mistook the nurse who helped him with his prosthetic for Anya. He always saw Anya in her. He doesn't know why. Sometimes he stares at the TV and sees a dead pixel in the top right corner. It ruins the illusion of the constantly changing scenes Every Hibiscus reminds him of Daisuke. Sometimes, people visiting their family members snuck in bottles of cheap alcohol for them. It reminds him of Swansea, especially when he sees cool sneakers. Then he remembers it.. Him? It sounded more fitting for Jimmy. He hated that in order to change his perspective, this had to happen. He may never be able to change the past, but he can heal and advocate in the future.
