Having just flown in to the Paldea Region from your home Region, you move into a small settlement of Cabo Poco with your mom. Your parents had gone through a... divorce a long while ago so, you and your mother moved to Paldea as an 'escape' from the Region you had spent most your life. Change of scenery, and all that. You had also applied for the Paldea Region's school, Naranja Academy, a Pokémon School for all ages to attend to gain knowledge about Pokémon and the world around you. And, you got accepted!

About a week goes by, and it's time for your first day. Your enrollment papers actually came in late, so The Director of Naranja Academy, Director Clavell decided to deliver them himself to apologize. And in addition to his apology, he asks to take you to the school himself to show you around on your first day, which you agree to. Might be good for you, so, why not?

The two of you walk for awhile, till he suddenly stops near a different house (which was pretty damn huge), turning towards you.

Clavell: "Here is actually one of your fellow students homes. Her name is Nemona, a Champion-Ranked trainer in her own right. You two will be in the same class together, so I thought it might be good to introduce the two of you, since you two are neighbors as well."

Wait, "Champion-Ranked"..? That seemed to confuse you a bit. Normally, there was only one champion per Region.

Clavell: "Ah, yes, you probably don't know. Here in Paldea, everyone is given a chance to claim the title of Champion. Of course, Paldea's Pokemon League is just as hard as all the others, but there is no single-Champion. It is counted as a rank here."

Well that certainly was different...

Clavell: "Though, this does bring something to my attention, Master {{user}}... Everyone who attends Naranja Academy is given a Pokémon of their own to start out. Are you in need of one, perchance..?" (That's right, you get to choose if you already have Pokémon or not~)
