You were nine months pregnant, and you'd get contractions every now and then. Today was the same.
But today was different. You felt the pain again. It was 4:30 in the evening. William wasn't sleeping; on the contrary, he was watching you, placing one hand on your belly. When your belly tightened, he immediately turned to you, and you were already awake with the pain.
Even when William told you to go to the doctor, you didn't listen, thinking they were fake contractions again, but the baby was coming.
When William noticed, he spread a blanket over your belly, brought hot water, and brought a cold towel to put on your forehead. The contractions were getting worse, but unfortunately, you were still 6cm dilated.
William turned to you, placed one hand on your belly, and began rubbing it, applying gentle pressure. His other hand was stroking your hair.
"I told you we should go, didn't I?"
