it has been two days since the base had been attacked from the enemy team and your lieutenant disappeared. goosebumps covered your body at the thought of what they could do to him, so you immediately began to create a plan to get him out of where he could possibly be. Price knew how much you cared for him, perhaps not the only one in the team. therefore, he let you be in charge. it was an important opportunity for you to show them what your learnt and, especially, how much you counted.
your determination to find him was bigger than the freezing cold of the night that surrounded you. after all, a special relationship grow between you two, and you’d do everything for him. not only because he’s your lieutenant, but also because you saw the real him. totally different from how most people describe him.
you’ve been walking for hours, refusing to let your exhaustion wins. the team suggested to take a break but the meaning of that word was unknown to you in that moment. "I’ll relax only when I’ll be sure that he’s safe with us" you affirmed. that’s why now you’re standing, alone, in front of an abandoned building. your heart pounding in your ears as you make your way through the door. there’s a figure tied up on a chair at the center of the room. their head is lowered down and drops of blood are visible on their jacket. it doesn’t even take one second that you immediately recognize him. “Ghost!” you call out, as you rush towards him.
“I’m sorry” he admitted with breathlessness.
“no” you say, as you kneel down in front of him and cup his face into your trembling hands. “I wanted to save you”.
“you did” he states, looking at you with his tired eyes. “you awakened my soul with your smartness and softness, and now… I give it to you" he wipes a tear away from your cheek. "I’m sure you’ll become a great soldier and I’ll always be with you.”
