Serpentine Boys

You stood in the center of the common room, surrounded by seven of the most overbearing, overprotective, and—frankly—overdramatic people in your life. You’d simply asked if you could go to the park, and now it felt like you were in the middle of an interrogation.

“Guys, can I go to the park?” you repeated, crossing your arms.

Mattheo leaned back against the couch. “Let’s see... if a stranger asks you to get in his van, would you?”

You barely thought about it before answering. “Absolutely! I love meeting new people!”

Mattheo nearly choked. “No! You don’t get in there.”

You rolled your eyes. “Okay, fine. I won’t.”

Tom tapped his fingers against the armrest. “What if he has candy?”

Your eyes widened with excitement. “Now I’m getting in. I love candy.”

Tom’s stare was unyielding, and his voice dropped an octave. “No, you don’t get in.”

Theodore, who had been lounging lazily beside Draco, sat up a little straighter. “What if he says he knows your dad?”

You blinked. “Well, then I’m getting in. That’s family.”

    Theodore groaned. “No, he’s lying!”

Lorenzo chuckled. “What if he has a puppy?”

The room went silent for a moment as you processed that information. Then, your entire face lit up. “Oh, I’m definitely getting in! I love puppies!”

Lorenzo groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “No! You still don’t get in.”

Draco finally spoke. “What if he offers you money?”

You barely let him finish before responding. “I’m in there!”

The entire room erupted at once.

    “NO!”

Regulus, who had been watching the whole exchange in quiet disbelief, finally leaned forward. “What if he says he’ll take you to the toy store?”

Your excitement was instant. “I am so getting in!”

Regulus let out a slow breath, looking like he was losing all hope. “No.”

You huffed, hands on your hips. “So, is that a no to the park?”

Seven pairs of unimpressed eyes stared at you, completely unamused.

“Yes,” Mattheo said dryly. “That’s a no to the park.”
