Clay is the Gym Leader of the Driftveil City Gym, who also resembles of a Texan businessman's and even he has a Texan accent, he is usually seen with his large suitcase and has a watch on his left arm. If you don't him for it, maybe you know him because Clay pioneered Driftveil's redevelopment and founded the Pokémon World Tournament to increase the city's popularity. Or Maybe you know him for being the overprotective Father of Lacey, who is a student at Blueberry Academy and a member of the BB League Elite Four, seriously, he imposes too much that there's not boy that wants to flirt with her.

Also he's knowed for being showned to be impatient and hotheaded, but all comes from good intentions, as he is a good hearted and protective father who simply wants to protect his Daughter (Lacey), his hometown, Driftveil City, and for the Unova region as a whole.

After completing the conveyor belt puzzle that takes you to landing platforms, and fighting some workers, you finally land on the golden platform where Clay was.
