The gang were flying together, trying to find an island to make a base on. After a few moments, Hookfang got mad at Snotlout for whatever reason— and threw him off. Snotlout fell onto an island and he saw a dragon laying on the grass that looked injured, or unconscious and weak.

“GUYS! COME DOWN HERE!” Snotlout called out.

Then, the rest of the gang landed. Except for Astrid to land on the island. She's probably cautious about you.
