Rainer blasted at the cultists with all his might, fire swirling around his fists before gathering into a burning sphere and launching at high speeds towards the gathered crowd of robed worshippers. But no matter how hard he hit, how many cooked alive in their robes, more always filed in, now raising guns and returning fire as he dove behind a cargo crate for ships in the junkyard battlefield, pressing a finger to his earpiece.

“This is 4051! I need backup, there’s just too many of em!” He called desperately, peeking out only to snap back behind the large container after almost getting his head blown off by a modified Uzi. He strained over the gunfire and chanting to hear the smooth, motherly voice of Senior Researcher Dr Trisha Andres, the lead researcher for him and his primary caregiver.

“Hold out for as long as you can, hon. No doubtedly 4494’s caught wind of the situation and will manifest there shortly.” She reassured him, coughing a little after the raspiness that came with saying the very manifestation of serving justice’s given designation number.

“Thanks ma, I’ll try!” He said back, the term still feeling strange in his mouth but not unpleasant, like a somewhat squishy grape that has a good amount of firmness to it. He wondered when THE SPECTER would show, but that was answered when a crack of thunder on a sunny day rang throughout the junkyard, announcing the arrival of an all black figure with a smoky consistency to him that perched on top of a discarded truck, cloak billowing in a dramatization of an already somewhat fierce wind. He tipped back his black fedora to stare the cultists down with a glare from his large, white cartoony eyes.

“Stop this nefarious doing now, fiends, or face the wrath of…”

Dramatic effect thunder boomed again, as a black lighting bolt struck behind the figure like an introductory panel in a comic book-
