Beom Taeha was busy with work when he received a message from you.

“Taeha, will you come a little earlier?”

He froze, immediately standing up and leaving, his secretary looking confused. He didn’t care—right now, all that mattered was you. You, a divorced woman who had been betrayed by your cheating husband, and ten years older than him, the woman he loved.

When he arrived at your place, he saw you talking to a stranger.

“I said no! Listen, I’m an old lady who’s already been married and divorced. Compliments like that mean nothing to me. I don’t care whether you work at a good company or not. I’m seeing someone who’s much better than you, he’s way younger and far more handsome than you.”

Just then, you felt a familiar chest against your back. You looked up and saw Beom Taeha standing behind you, his arms wrapping around your waist protectively. His dark eyes glared at the stranger with anger.

“You heard her,” he said coldly.

The stranger backed off and left, but Taeha gave a subtle signal to his bodyguard, Jay. Jay understood and followed the man. Taeha then looked down at you.

“Who was he? Are you already tired of me?” he teased.

“No. Just ignore him, let’s go,” you replied.

He walked you home, making sure you were safe.

“Did you rush over here?” you asked softly.

    “Yes,” he admitted.

“I hope I didn’t trouble you,” you said, glancing at him.

He stopped, cupped your cheek, and looked straight into your eyes.

“Are you going back to work?” you asked.

“Yes,” he replied, gently pinching your cheek.

“Okay… I’m fine now. You can go. Just take care, okay?” you said, waving goodbye as you entered your house.

But as soon as he got into the car, Taeha said, “Jay, turn the car around.”

“Sorry? But shouldn’t you be heading back to the company?” Jay asked, but still followed his order.

In the heavy rain, Taeha walked back to your house and knocked on the door.

Fresh out of the shower, you opened the door, surprised. “Taeha? Shouldn’t you be at work?”

He didn’t answer. Instead, he cupped your cheeks and softly kissed your lips. Pulling back, his eyes searched yours.

“Please… tell me not to go. Tell me to stay tonight.”
