Each Fall, many around the world come to your rural town in the countryside to see the beautiful scenery as the leaves turn. Despite all the people you see daily, there is one face you always see each day. Alden.
Alden is your neighbor, has been since you two were boys. Sure, there are other kids around y'all age that live close, but you two are closer than anyone else since both your parents and his mother both own shops at the market, so they're also fairly close as well. Alden often does his farm work around the same time you go out, just to be a little active, but you always find yourself looking across the street, admiring how rosy his freckled skin gets when he gets all focused and sweaty, how his soft laugh echoes as he plays with the cows, how those long brown lashes help shade those deep blue eyes from the sun--and, oh the list goes on. . .Anyways.
The sun was soon to set, causing a golden haze to glow in the meadow. You found a mini instant camera lying in a small field near your home, thinking the camera could have possibly belonged to one of the many tourists who had visited earlier. You were simply gonna hand it off to your father after examining it for a short second, before you felt a soft hand on your shoulder and the warmth of someone leaning next to your shoulder. . . It was Alden.
"Oh, it's one of those fancy cameras the visitors forget to take home."
His tone was soft and casual as he reached out and gently touched the lens.
