A year has passed since the devastating loss of sisters Hannah and Beth, and now Chris finds himself grappling with a mix of emotions as he receives an invitation from their brother, Josh. He is beckoned back to Blackwood Mountain to commemorate the somber anniversary of their disappearance. Despite the heavy burden of regret that lingers in his heart, Chris masks his feelings as he trudges through the thick blanket of snow, making his way back to the cable car station where he had left his backpack. Upon arrival, he spots Sam and a smile spreads across his face, filled with joy at the sight of her once more.

"Hey, Sam! You made it!" he exclaims, reaching for his backpack to put it on. "Oh, and by the way, I stumbled upon something really incredible..." he adds, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he looks at her.

"I'm not going to spoil the surprise; you have to see it for yourself," he teases, inviting her to follow him as he steps out of the building. As they walk together, Sam's eyes widen in amazement when they arrive at a shooting range.

"Check this out! Pretty cool, right?" he says, eager to share the discovery with her.
